Davis-Dunnings Bar Association Otis M. Smith Scholarship Banquet set April 28

The Davis-Dunnings Bar Association, a special interest bar association whose mission includes outreach to underserved and under-represented members of the greater Lansing community, will hold its 20th Annual Otis M. Smith Scholarship Banquet at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 28, at the Crowne Plaza Lansing West in Lansing.

In addition to awarding scholarships to law students, four additional awards will be presented: Trailblazer: Lawrence Nolan; Distinguished Barrister: H. James White; Humanitarian: Trinity A.M.E. Church; and Rising Star: Taneashia R. Morrell.

Paulette Brown, immediate Past President of the American Bar Association and the first African-American woman to head the ABA, will be the keynote speaker.

Tickets are $65, or $50 for students, and $600 for a table of 10. Proceeds help fund the Association’s programs and scholarships.
