Attorney accepts Fellowship of Ingham County Bar Foundation

Willingham & Coté, P.C. is pleased to announce that partner Michael W. Stephenson has accepted the position of “Fellow” with the Ingham County Bar Foundation.

Fellows must be a member of the State Bar of Michigan for at least five years and be in good standing. In addition, Fellowship is limited to not more than 5 percent of the active attorneys in the tri-county area and recognizes those who have excelled as lawyers or judges and gained the respect of their peers.

Stephenson will be a great addition to the foundation in supporting their chosen, predominantly local, beneficiaries. Examples of past foundation beneficiaries include, Davis Dunnings Bar Association, Resolution Service Center and the Ingham County Sobriety Court Foundation.

A graduate of Wayne State University College of Law where he was vice chairperson of the Legal Aid Clinic, Stephenson is the president of the firm’s board of directors and chair of the Litigation Group.

A trial attorney since 1993, currently, he devotes a majority of his practice to defending physicians in malpractice and licensing actions and representing insurance companies involved in litigating complex medical issues. He also represents commercial clients primarily in the automotive and construction areas.
