More than 50 WMU-Cooley Law School students and Lansing community members gathered for the recent “Know Your Rights” program hosted by WMU-Cooley Law School’s Lansing Black Law Students Association in collaboration with the Davis-Dunnings Bar Association. The free program, held at the Capital Area District Library, helped law students learn and review major topics in criminal procedure, and allowed community members to learn about rights and protections under the Fourth Amendment. The event also included a Q&A session featuring a diverse panel of community leaders who discussed a variety of issues, including how to be confident with police encounters and how to protect civil liberties.
