Jeffery Cojocar earned a B.A. in political science, magna cum laude from Wayne State University, and J.D. from Florida State University’s College of Law.
He then worked for a small general litigation firm in Sterling Heights, until opening his own practice in 1998, and has been the owner and operator of this practice since then.
A member of the State Bar of Michigan, Macomb County Bar Association, and Oakland County Bar Association, he handles all types of trial and litigation-related matters, from civil disputes, probate litigation matters, representation of small- to mid-size businesses, domestic relations cases, personal injury matters, and criminal cases from misdemeanors through capital offenses.
He also created and operated Infinity Sports & Entertainment Management Group; and became certified as an NFL Contract Advisor (i.e., an agent), providing representation to athletes for a number of years. Given the time commitments, he chose to devote his energies to the practice of law, although he still provides some consulting and transactional services for athletes, entertainers, and the like.
Cojocar lives in Macomb County with his wife of nearly 17 years, 15-year-old son, and twin 9-year-old daughters.

What inspired you to enter your field of law? How much I looked up to prosecutors when I was a child, wanting to, and eventually working for, one of their offices in Jefferson County, Florida. This respect is something I generally maintain to the present day, given my daily interactions with many prosecutors in my criminal cases.
What is your proudest moment as a lawyer? Recently receiving two acquittals in felony capital matters that also involved domestic and child neglect proceedings that were entirely contingent upon the outcome of the criminal cases. If things had gone south for my clients, not only would they have lost parenting time and custodial rights, but I also believe their parental rights would have been terminated without much difficulty.
What would surprise people about your job? The number of different courts I have to navigate and be at in a timely fashion every day.
What are you looking forward to? Although it is difficult and draining at times, continuing to practice law for hopefully another 20 years or so. It is something I have always wanted to do, have never regretted getting involved with, and genuinely love doing on a daily basis.
What is the best advice you ever received? First, to treat others the way you would want to be treated while maintaining respect and professionalism. Secondly, I was taught I would have to put in a great deal of hard work and dedication to earn a living, be comfortable, and support a family.
What is your happiest childhood memory? Winning the local basketball championship the season after my previous team lost every single game. I also was proud of being one of six recipients of an academic scholarship, out of over 14,000 applicants, for what was then the Detroit News/Reuters.
If you could have witnessed any event in history, what would it be? Although tragic, the attack upon Pearl Harbor is truly mind-boggling to me, and something that probably would have shown true heroism and bravery in the midst of a horrible tragedy.
Favorite local hangouts: Attending Detroit Lions games at Ford Field with my family (season ticket holder since 1991), as well as extensive traveling to attend activities my children participate in—baseball, basketball, cheer, football, and musical performances.
