Lenhart honored by Kiwanis Club

Eileen Lenhart recently was presented with the George F. Hixson Fellowship designation, the highest honor bestowed on Kiwanis members for their outstanding community service.

"Lenhart has dedicated much time to many projects in the Jackson Community," a Kiwanis spokesperson said.

"She has chaired the Jackson Kiwanis Youth Services Committee for at least 10 years where more than 3,500 pairs of shoes and boots have been provided to needy children and thousands of dictionaries and thesauruses have been distributed to third and seventh grade students in Jackson.

In addition, the spokesperson said Lenhart has spearheaded numerous projects such as; assistance to Aware Shelter mothers and babies, Interfaith Shelter residents, food drives, and many more community interactive aids to help the disadvantaged.

She served as a distinguished President of the Kiwanis Club of Jackson in 2007 - 2008 and currently serves as Chairman of the Kiwanis Board of Directors.

The Club has made a contribution of $1,000 in honor of Eileen to the Kiwanis International Foundation whose pledge is to help the children of the world.
