Former detective to star in Veteran's Day comedy show

Khurum Sheikh, a former lieutenant detective with the Ann Arbor Police Department who retired in 2009 and turned to a life of comedy, is one of three stars set to perform in a free Veteran’s Day comedy show slated for 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Michigan Theatre, 124 N. Mechanic St., in Jackson. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Concessions will be available at regular prices.

LifeWays Community Mental Health has partnered with Recovery Technology and the Michigan Theatre to host this event, and promises good, clean comedy.
Sheikh is joined by two other national touring comedians:  Steve Smargon, aka the “Bipolar Marine,” whose wacky comedic style on any given night all depends on whether he took his meds or a handful of Skittles; and Andy Beningom a regular on the “Bob & Tom Show” who centers his energetic act around growing up as a middle child and his short-lived career as a middle school teacher.
