Former judge dies at 85
Former Jackson Circuit Court Judge Alexander C. Perlos of Jackson died April 27, 2016, at the age of 85, after complications with heart disease.
Born in Yugoslavia on July 15, 1930, Perlos came to Jackson at the age of 9 in 1939.
He graduated from Jackson High School, Michigan State University in 1953, and the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1957.
He was in private practice from then until April of 1986 when he was appointed by then Governor Blanchard to the Circuit Court bench where he remained until his retirement in 2002.
He was a member and active in many state and local organizations and a member of St. Demetrius Orthodox Church.
Perlos was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, his parents, his brother, and his sister. He is survived by his children, Charles (Kim), Mark (Lisa), Pamela, and Alex II, and four grandchildren.
