Charity golf scramble set for June 8

The Christopher Risner Memorial Golf Scramble is set for June 8 at Hankerd Hills Golf Course, 10251 Resort Road, Pleasant Lake MI 49272. The deadline to register is May 20.

The event, hosted by Airmaster Fan in Clarklake, a member of the Maico Grouop, is in aid of the local opioid abuse family support network Andy’s Angels.

The foundation, created by Mike Hirst to honor his son Andy Hirst who died in 2010 from a heroin overdose, raises funds to assist with costs for treatment programs.

For more information, visit: https://andysangels.net.

Jackson native Chris Risner, who worked with Andy's Angels and local, state and national government officials to help battle the opioid epidemic, died last November at the age of 29, after his own long battle with depression and addiction.

Risner, who had worked with the Jackson Narcotics Enforcement Team, also had shared his experiences by speaking at the Jackson County Drug Summits, and with Mike Hirst would visit schools to speak to students.
The event includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, hot dogs on the turn, lunch, silent auction, and prizes.

Registration is at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Individual registration is $75; team registration is $300.

Sponsorship opportunities are available, starting as low as a $75 sand trap sponsorship. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

For signup or donations call Megan at 517-764-2300, Ext. 1345, or email: airmasterangels@gmail.com.
