Letter to the Editor

The year 2020 represents change. Our lives are being tested by a power that is greater than all. Important decisions have to be made that our survival depends on. This is also election year; it is important for all registered voters to exercise their constitutional right and go to the polls or vote by mail. I am endorsing the following candidates:

Attorney George Lyons – Write in candidate for District Court Judge; Joe Beaman- Jackson County Sheriff; Daveda Quinn- Jackson County Commissioner; Shalanda Hunt- JPS School Board; Kesha Hamilton- JPS School Board.

I have worked in the community with these candidates and know they will help bring diversity, equity, inclusion to the community and will work for the citizens. These are important issues that will help our community to address the disparities In the neighborhoods we live in, our school system, our criminal justice system our city and county government and our economic system which they will help bridge the gaps and create financial stability, a reformed criminal justice system, a economically thriving community and better education for all of our children.
