Angel Tree and Red Kettle campaigns will help families

In a year with up to 50% fewer Red Kettles and 150% more projected local need, Walmart is assisting The Salvation Army of Jackson County.

Walmart - (Westwood Mall) is hosting an Angel Tree through Dec. 15 - near the Money Center.

People can pick a tag off the tree and support a family with Christmas gifts for children. Each tag has the ages of the children and gifts they would like listed. Gifts are under $50 and can be purchased in the store and taken to the Courtesy Desk to be secured. Gifts may also be delivered to The Salvation Army at 806 E. Pearl Street.

A range of children’s gifts is also listed on the Walmart Salvation Army – Registry for Good. Gifts may be selected by going to The Salvation Army of Jackson County’s gift registry.

Until Dec. 31 Walmart will offer the opportunity of “Rounding-Up” their purchase to the next dollar and donating the difference to The Salvation Army, at manned cash registers, on Walmart.com or through the Walmart app.
The Salvation Army’s Red Kettles and bell ringers will begin at Walmart, starting Nov. 21.
