Examining the principle of equality

Cooley Law School and the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) Diversity Committee celebrated Constitution Day and Patriot Week recently at Cooley’s Auburn Hills campus by hosting a panel discussion on “Judging America: Have We Fulfilled Our Promise of Equality?” Taking part in the program were (left to right) OCBA President Jennifer Grieco with Neuman Anderson PC, Cooley Dean John Nussbaumer, Oakland County 50th District Court Judge Cynthia Thomas Walker, panelist; Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren, moderator; Michigan Supreme Court Justice Maura Corrigan, panelist; Michigan Court of Appeals Judges Christopher Murray and Elizabeth Gleicher, panelists; and Cooley Career and Professional Development Coordinator Alana Glass. “Today we are celebrating and renewing the spirit of America through this panel discussion about our founding first principle of equality and the great struggle that we as a country have had — to take that principle as an ideal and to move it into reality,” Warren said.
