Program focuses on immigration reform

The Federalist Society chapter at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law presented a program titled “On the Border: A Debate on the Arizona Law and the Future of Immigration Reform” recently in the school’s atrium. Arguments were presented by Dr. James Carafano (second from left), director of the Center for Foreign Policy Studies and deputy director of the Institute for International Studies at the Heritage Foundation, and UDM Law’s Andrew Moore (third from right), professor of Human Rights, Immigration and International Law. The debate focused on the political and legal effects of the recent Arizona immigration legislation (SB 1070) and the future of immigration reform. Welcoming the speakers were (left to right) third-year law student Jeff Wiggins (left), president of the UDM Law Federalist Society chapter, Stacey Johnson, Jeffrey McMichael, and Joanne Golden.
