The State Bar of Michigan Appellate Practice Section hosted an Economics of Appellate Practice Seminar recently at Embassy Suites in Livonia. Among those taking part in the event were (left to right) Stephanie Simon Morita of Secrest Wardle and Liisa Speaker of the Speaker Law Firm PLLC. The seminar featured a presentation of the State Bar of Michigan’s “2010 Economics of Law Practice Survey,” with a focus on appellate practitioners. There was also a panel discussion on topics such as attorney’s fees, the cost of an appeal, recovering fee awards from an opposing party, and collecting from clients.
