The presentation of the portrait of U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence P. Zatkoff was conducted on Friday, June 10, at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. Zatkoff was sworn in as a U.S. district judge of Michigan on June 6, 1986. Prior to that he served as a circuit court judge and probate court judge for Macomb County beginning in 1978. He graduated from the University of Detroit in 1962 and from the Detroit College of Law in 1966. Zatkoff practiced law in Detroit and Macomb County; served briefly as an assistant prosecuting attorney; and taught at the Detroit College of Law.
