The Michigan Defense Trial Counsel conducted its Winter Meeting recently at the Hotel Baronette in Novi. The topic of this year’s meeting was “Think you know everything about settlement? Think again.” Among those leading the program were (seated, left to right) MDTC President Phil Korovesis of Butzel Long PC, MDTC board member Hilary Ballentine of Plunkett Cooney PC, and Larry Donaldson of Plunkett Cooney PC; along with (back row, left to right) Gary Berger of Berger, Miller, Strager PC; and MDTC Professional Liability & Health Care Section Chair Terrence Durkin of Kitch, Drutchas, Wagner, Valitutti, & Sherbrook. Topics covered at the meeting included discussions on case evaluation, facilitation, structured settlements, exceeding expectations and a view from the bench.
