State Bar of Michigan Executive Director Janet Welch (second from right) recently moderated a panel of SBM’s current and former female leadership that discussed “The Pipeline to Power for Women Lawyers in Michigan.” Among those speaking on the panel at the Detroit event were (left to right) current SBM President Julie Fershtman of Foster, Swift, Collins, & Smith; former SBM President and retired Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Trial Division Chief Nancy Diehl; and former SBM President and current University of Michigan Regent Julia Darlow. Also speaking on the panel, but not pictured, was former SBM president U.S. District Court Judge Victoria Roberts. The group presented the closing discussion of Michigan State University College of Law’s “Gender and the Legal Profession’s Pipeline to Power” symposium.
