The Criminal Practice Committee of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, recently hosted a panel discussion looking into “E-Discovery in Criminal Cases.” Taking part in the program at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit were (front row, left to right) Special Agent Andrew Sluss, Matthew Leitman of Miller, Canfield, Paddock, & Stone PLC; Joe Richotte of Butzel Long PC; and Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Lemisch; along with (back row, left to right) U.S. District Court Judges David Lawson and Robert Cleland, and Michael Naughton of Thomas & Naughton PC.  Richotte said the discussion was aimed at exploring recommendations on how prosecutors and defense attorneys “can collaborate to try and avoid some of the discovery disputes that might normally arise.”
