Meeting examines cross border litigation

Detroit and Toledo law schools recently held a joint meeting of their American Inns of Court at the Toledo Club.  The teams simulated a corporate counsel’s interview of law firms from both cities to handle cross-border litigation. Participants in the program included (front row, left to right)  Idara Akpan, student; Linde Webb with Lyde & Moan in Toledo; and Ivonne Soler, student; along with (back row, from left) Dan Bernard with Vercruysse, Murray & Calzone; Lee Khachaturian with Dickinson Wright; Judy Susskind of The Thurswell Law Firm; U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Mary Ann Whipple, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Daphne Means Curtis; John Siciliano with Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick in Toledo; and University of Detroit Mercy school of Law Professor Gary Maveal.
