People's Law School scheduled for September

The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ), along with Sinas Dramis PC and Wayne State Law School, will host the People’s Law School starting on Sept. 10.

The seven-week program is open to the community and provides an opportunity for non-lawyers to learn about the legal system.

Faculty members include judges, elected officials, seasoned attorneys and law professors.

People’s Law School classes typically include a lecture (with a short break) followed by a question and answer session.

Each participant also receives Student Handbook that contains outlines of the materials the speakers will be presenting. Students who attend five of the seven classes will receive a People’s Law School Diploma.

“For over 20 years, MAJ and the Sinas Dramis Law Firm have successfully run the People’s Law School program in Lansing, and during the years we have seen thousands of Lansing residents benefit from this program,” said Stephen Sinas, an attorney at the Sinas Dramis Law Firm and chair of the initiative.

Classes run weekly from 7-9 p.m. and will be held at the Hannah Community Center in East Lansing.
