Applications sought to fill court vacancy

The office of Gov. Rick Snyder is accepting applications to fill the seat on the Macomb County Circuit Court bench vacated by Judge John Foster.

Foster had served as a judge for 24 years, sitting on the circuit court bench since 2006. His retirement took effect April 30.

Members of the State Bar of Michigan, who meet the legal qualifications and are interested in applying, should visit the governor’s website — www.michigan.gov/snyder — for further information as well as the judicial application.

Completed applications along with a resume should be submitted to the Office of the Governor, Legal Division, 111 S. Capitol Ave., PO Box 30013, Lansing, MI 48909.

The deadline for submission is May 20.
