State Bar announces award winners

The following individuals will receive 2015 State Bar of Michigan awards at a banquet on Oct. 7 at the SBM Annual Meeting in Novi:

• Roberts P. Hudson Award: Edward H. Pappas.

• Frank J. Kelley Distinguished Public Service Award: James L. Shonkwiler (posthumously), Timothy A. Baughman, Adam A. Shakoor.

• Champion of Justice Award: David W. Christensen, Stephanie Dawkins Davis, Nora M. Hudson, Alicia J. Skillman.

• John W. Reed Lawyer Legacy Award: Professor Joseph Kimble.

• John W. Cummiskey Pro Bono Award: Paul E. Scheidemantel.

• Kimberly M. Cahill Bar Leadership Award: St. Clair County Bar Association.

• Liberty Bell Award: Matthew R. Branding.

The following individuals will receive State Bar Representative Assembly awards at the Assembly’s Oct. 8 meeting in Novi:

• Michael Franck Award: Vernon D. Kortering (posthumously).

• Unsung Hero Award: Judge Allie Greenleaf Maldonado.
