EAST LANSING (AP) — A $1 million gift to Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business has created an endowed professorship in management.
The gift from Al and Nancy Gambrel was announced earlier this month by the East Lansing school.
Al Gambrel earned a bachelor’s degree in business in 1976. He’s been senior vice president of human resources at TreeHouse Foods for the last 10 years.
He says one of his professors, Larry Foster, helped him get interested in a career in human resources.
Sanjay Gupta, dean of the Broad College, said Gambrel’s passion for ensuring that students get a real-world educational experience matches the business school’s vision of “developing transformational thinkers and doers who make business happen.”
