The Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the State Bar of Michigan recently hosted a panel discussion on representing survivors of assault at Affirmations in Ferndale. Taking part in the program were (left to right) Sara Dobbyn of Turning Point; YLS Secretary Syeda Davidson and Heidi Sharp of Burgess, Sharp, & Golden PLLC; Jessica Bertollini of #happyperioddetroit; Ashley Low of Wayne State University Law School; and Bill Knight of Lakeshore Legal Aid. “This event is about representing survivors of assault in civil and criminal matters with a focus on labor and employment as well as family court; along with a presentation on safety planning,” Davidson said.
