One-stop shopping on tap in Sterling Heights

People needing a birth certificate to get a driver’s license or a driver's license to get a birth certificate will have one-stop shopping next week in Sterling Heights due to a partnership between Macomb County Clerk/Register of Deeds Carmella Sabaugh and Secretary of State Ruth Johnson.

County clerk staff will be in the Secretary of State’s Sterling Heights branch office at 7917 19 Mile Road on Thursday, June 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Visitors will be able to obtain help with Macomb County birth and death certificates, business registrations, marriage licenses, circuit court records, voter registration, concealed pistol license applications, real
estate deed requests and veteran ID cards.

At the same time, a foreclosure prevention counselor will be on hand to provide free and confidential information on the mortgage and/or property tax foreclosure timeline and viable options to save someone’s
home.
