ROYAL OAK (AP) — A 47-year-old Detroit-area doctor faces charges after death threats were made to a county prosecutor and other court officials.
Dr. Kumar Singh was arraigned recently in Royal Oak on 22 counts that include using a computer to commit a crime.
Genesee County prosecutor’s office spokesman John Potbury says online threats were made against an assistant prosecutor who handled a 2013 drug case in which Singh appeared as a defense witness.
Threats also were made against Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper and a retired judge.
Singh is jailed on a $1 million bond. A Sept. 27 probable cause conference is scheduled.
Genesee County’s prosecutor is handling the case after Cooper recused herself.
