The American Bar Association’s annual Mediation Week celebration is underway and includes more than three dozen activities across the country, and this year features an event in Spain.
In 2011, the ABA declared ABA Mediation Week to be held in October, in part building on the efforts of other national, state and local organizations that have traditionally celebrated conflict resolution during this month.
This year’s Mediation Week is Oct. 16-23, but there are events scheduled nationally throughout October. The week celebrates the growing field of alternative dispute resolution and the recognition that not all cases in the justice system are well-suited for the adversarial process.
Mediation Week is sponsored by the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution.
