Macomb County Circuit Court will celebrate Adoption Day today during a ceremony at the courthouse in downtown Mt. Clemens.
Adoption Day is a Thanksgiving holiday tradition held in courts across the state to celebrate with families who are adopting children and to reach out to families in Macomb County who may be thinking about adoption.
The event provides an opportunity to educate the community about the many children in the foster care system who are waiting to find an adoptive home, as well as, to watch adoptions being confirmed by circuit court judges.
Michigan Supreme Court Justice David F. Viviano, Chief Circuit Court Judge James M. Biernat and Circuit Court are scheduled to take part in today’s event.
“It is an honor for the court to play such an important role in the lives of children and families,” Biernat said. “There is nothing more rewarding than being able to give a child a forever home. It is a privilege for the Macomb County Circuit Court to be a part of this exciting celebration that is happening across the state and I hope that the community will join us at this important event.”
