Helping make wishes come true

Michael P. Salhaney, a partner located in Secrest Wardle’s Troy office and member of the firm’s Municipal, Family Law and Governmental Litigation Practice Groups, took part this summer in a three-day, 300 mile bicycle ride as a part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan’s Wish-A-Mile (WAM) Bicycle Tour. Salhaney kept Wish Hero Zachary in his thoughts as he rode from Traverse City to the Michigan International Speedway. Since 1998, Salhaney has supported the Make-A-Wish Foundation, previously serving the organization as Food Committee chairman. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan supports children with life-threatening medical conditions in an effort to help them and their families during their illnesses. Each week throughout the year, Secrest Wardle employees in all three of the firm’s office locations have the option to participate in “Casual Fridays.” In exchange for a $5 cash donation, business casual attire is permitted. Employees are encouraged to suggest charities for sponsorship. The firm has devoted three “Casual Fridays” in 2017 to raising funds for Salhaney’s passion. Including the firm’s efforts, over $2,400,000 was raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan through the WAM Bicycle Tour.
