Two very different events will take place on August 25 in the Muskegon area.
The first is at Unity of Muskegon, 2052 Bourdon St., Lakeside. The Spiritual Gifts Faire - an Expo for the Unique and Universal - will run 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It will be a day to explore unique spiritual gifts, including: New Discoveries, spiritual teachings, psychic readings, handcrafts and other actions to support the Unlimited Potential of Community.

In the Voting Rally in Muskegon Heights, participants can register to vote and learn about three ballot initiatives to be considered in November: Promote the Vote, which makes changes that will help ensure equal access in voting; the Voters Not Politicians proposal to change who draws the lines of voting districts from politicians to a citizen commission; and the recreational Marijuana Legalization initiative, which could help reduce the state’s high incarceration rates.
Sponsored by the NAACP, the rally is at Rowan Park (Broadway and Baker) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and includes three raffles.
