On Wednesday, a small crowd of admirers and community leaders saw a lifelike sculpture of Dr. Doris Ruck unveiled at Muskegon Community College after a brief ceremony.
Dr. Rucks, who died in 2016, was a professor at both MCC and Grand Valley State University, teaching social work careers and other social studies. She was also the founder of the Coalition for Community Development in Muskegon Heights, among many other contributions.
Local artist Ari Norris created the sculpture.
