This annual event raising funds and awareness for the Harbor Hospice Foundation and supporting The Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence program will be held on Saturday, May 29, in Fruitport, and virtually May 22 -29.
Again this year the 40th Annual Fruitport Old Fashioned Days 5K run will benefit the Poppen Hospice Residence.
In-person 5k and leisure bike ride will take place in-person on Saturday, May 29 OR you can go virtually and run, jog, walk or bike between Saturday, May 22 and May 29 (by 10:00 am to count for run).
Runners, walkers, joggers and bikers must register online and are encouraged to practice social distancing and wear masks before events begin.
If according to CDC and state health guidelines in-person is not recommended we will flip to an only virtual platform.
All proceeds from online registration and crowdfunding to benefit the Poppen Hospice Residence in Fruitport Township. Since 2006, the Fruitport and surround communities have supported the charity bike ride with almost $17,500 in proceeds benefiting the inpatient hospice program, The Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence, which opened in 2005. Over 3,000 patients and families have called this their home at end-of-life.
