Enter the Hackley Library Photo Challenge!

Have fun with Hackley Library’s Summer Photo Challenge! This free challenge will run through August 14.

Each week, Hackley Library will post picture prompts on the HPL Facebook page.  Using the prompt as inspiration, participants are invited to post/submit one picture a week to the HPL Facebook page with the relevant tags.

Submitted pictures will be gathered into folders for each prompt, and the public will be able to vote for their favorite pic-tures from each week by “liking” them.

At the end of the challenge, winners of each prompt will have their picture framed and displayed at HPL.

‘Turtle Travels’ Runs Through September 4

At this hands-on, interactive exhibit, you’ll see life from the turtle’s point of view.

Think turtles have an easy life? Here’s your chance to try being one for a while. In this unique hands-on, interactive exhibit, you’ll have a chance to experience life as they know it. Built around a life-sized board game, you’ll face the same obstacles and dangers turtles face in their day-to-day life.

Summer Book Talk Set For July 28

“The King of Confidence,” by Miles Harvey (a 2021 Michigan Notable author) is set for 7 to 8 p.m., July 28.

The story is of an infamous American con man: James Strang, self-proclaimed divine king of earth, heaven, and an island in Lake Michigan.
