Operation Iraq Pac

Members of the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA), the Washtenaw County Bar Association, and Cooley Law School took part in Operation Iraq Pac on Thursday, March 18, at the Ford National Parts Distribution Center (NPDC) in Livonia. Operation Iraq Pac is a project launched in 2004 to send care packages to U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Mike Schloff (left) of Michael D. Schloff PLLC, OCBA Veterans Committee president and retired Marine captain, takes a break from packing boxes with Barb Grasso, a Ford/UAW retiree and coordinator of Operation Iraq Pac. "It started by shipping care packages to one Marine, who was the brother of one of our co-workers at Ford," said Grasso, who retired from the automaker three years ago.  "I had a great time meeting the fabulous volunteers from the Thomas Cooley Law Schools and the OCBA.  Their generosity for our troops is over the top and their enthusiasm is contagious.  Everyone was very patient with me as I was trying to delegate work to such a big and eager group."
