Help desk gets new name, day, and hours of service

 The Free Legal Information Help Desk is now providing legal information and referrals to pro se litigants on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby of the north entrance to the Oakland County Courthouse, 1200 N. Telegraph Road. 

The former Help Desk had been open on Thursdays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.  The Free Legal Information Help Desk is sponsored by the Oakland County Bar Association and LAD.  It is staffed by LAD attorneys and pro bono attorneys from corporate and private practice.
 
“The Free Legal Information Help Desk provides timely information and referrals to pro se litigants—litigants acting as their own attorneys—and legal advice to those that qualify for our services,” said Kelly L. Bidelman, managing attorney of LAD’s offices in Macomb and Oakland counties.
 
“And we can help Oakland County Circuit Court by reducing its workload,” she said.
