'14 Women' presented by WBA for Patriot Week

The Women’s Bar Association (WBA), Oakland County region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, hosted a Patriot Week event with a viewing of the documentary “14 Women” at the Ferndale Public Library on Wednesday, Sept. 14.

The film takes a look at the women of the historic 109th Congress.

Eager audience members included (left to right) WBA Treasurer Ryan Kelly of Kelly & Kelly PC,  WBA Membership Committee Co-Chair Lori T. Williams of Your Legal Resource PLLC, Channelle Kizy-White of Channelle Kizy PLLC, WBA Treasurer Melissa Graves of Ottenwess & Associates PLC, Leah Warren and Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren, co-creators of Patriot Week; and WBA President Stacy King of Garan, Lucow, Miller PC.

“Patriot Week renews America’s spirit by celebrating the First Principles,” said King.  “The principle of equality of gender is celebrated on Sept. 14th and commemorates patriots like Elizabeth Cady Staton, Susan B. Anthony, as well as the Seneca Falls Declaration of Sentiments and resolutions, and the 19th Amendment.”
