Judges taking part in fashion event for JVS
Saks Fifth Avenue presents a preview of the Fall and Holiday 2011 David Yurman American Glamour collection to benefit the JVS Women to Work Program on Thursday, Nov. 3. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served at 6 p.m., with a fashion presentation at 7 p.m. The event will feature celebrity models Oakland County 48th District Court Judge Marc Barron and Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Shalina Kumar, in addition to Saks' professional models.
Benefactor Tickets are $125 and include a $50 Saks Gift Card. Patron tickets are $50 and include a $25 Saks Gift Card.
Saks Fifth Avenue and David Yurman are each pleased to donate 5% of David Yurman sales on Thursday, Nov. 3, to benefit the JVS Women to Work Program.
The JVS Women to Work Program began over 25 years ago to address the emerging needs of women who must become the primary breadwinner after divorce, separation, an unemployed spouse, disability of a spouse or other unforeseen situations.
Additionally, these women have either never worked outside the home or have been out of the workforce for a long period of time. They often lack the self-confidence needed to embark on a successful job search and do not realize the work-related skills they possess. The JVS Women to Work Program provides emotional support and employment counseling to help these women uncover their skills, identify hidden talents and discover the meaningful ways they can contribute to the workforce.
For tickets and information, call 248-233-4213 or e-mail Judy Strongman at jstrongman@jvsdet.org.
