Krauss tapped to be vice president of Detroit Regional Chamber

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson recently announced that the Detroit Regional Chamber has tapped Oakland County's Director of Economic Development & Community Affairs Maureen Krauss to be vice president of Economic Development, Business Attraction. Krauss' replacement has not been named. "It is a compliment to Oakland County that Michigan's leading economic development agencies continue to seek and hire our staff in recognition of their excellent work," Patterson said. "We look forward to remaining partners with Maureen in creating and retaining jobs in Oakland County under our Emerging Sectors, Medical Main Street, Automation Alley and other initiatives." Krauss, 49, joined the county in 1998 as a business development representative. She became deputy director of Economic Development and Community Affairs in 2005, advancing to director in July 2009. She was named one of Crain's Detroit Business Magazine's 2010 "Women to Watch." Oakland County's Department of Economic Development & Community Affairs will remain under the leadership of Deputy County Executive Matthew Gibb, who replaced Doug Smith after the Snyder administration appointed him senior vice president of strategic partnerships at the Michigan Economic Development Association.
