The Veterans Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association conducted a Veterans Day program at Kurtz Elementary School in Milford on Friday, Nov. 11.
The day began with the raising of the flag in front of the school. Looking on as the stars and stripes rose were (left to right) Charles E. Brown, Veterans Committee chairman; S. Gerald Gorcyca, Committee member; retired Judge Fred M. Mester, Committee member; Donald V. Orlandoni, immediate past chairman; and Brian R. Meyer, Committee member.
During the day, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students were visited by teams of Veterans Committee members that addressed such topics as service to the country, patriotism, liberty, rule of law, and more.
The teams consisted of Charles E. Brown and S. Gerald Gorcyca, Michael D. Scholff and Donald Orlandoni, and retired Judge Fred Mester and Brian R. Meyer.
