'Trial Institute' provides tips for attorneys of all experience, March 22-23

The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) is proud to offer a 2-day “Trial Institute” on Thursday and Friday, March 22-23, at The Westin located at 1500 Town Center in Southfield.

The intensive two-day program guarantees to improve trial skills for attorneys at whatever level of experience. The program includes hours of demonstrations and critiques by experienced judges, jury consultants, and top practitioners in the state.

During the hands-on training, attendees will learn:

• How to Give a Compelling Opening Statement.

• How to Conduct an Effective Cross Examination.

• How to Present a Powerful Closing.

Participation is limited to 27 students with three breakout groups of nine students, attorney faculty members, judges, and experienced jury consultants.    There will be specific fact patterns for each of three practice areas: auto, medical malpractice, and employment law.   Factual statements and supporting documents will be supplied in advance of the program. Students will receive a DVD of their presentation.

Tuition includes all course materials, continental breakfast and lunch for both days, and a cocktail reception and dinner on Thursday night. Cost is $595  for members and $650 for non-members.

Because enrollment is limited and advance preparation is required, registration must be received by  Friday, March 9.  MAJ will give a full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee for cancellations made by Friday, March 9.  No refunds will be given after that date.
