Woman charged after review of YouTube video

SANDUSKY, Mich. (AP) — A Michigan woman is facing misdemeanor charges after authorities say they reviewed a YouTube video that showed her forcing her 2-year-old son to eat.

The 21-year-old woman from St. Clair County’s Kimball Township, near Port Huron, was arraigned last week in Sanilac County 73rd District Court in Sandusky. She’s charged with fourth-degree child abuse and domestic violence.

The court said last week that she didn’t have a lawyer on record. She’s due back in court March 12.

Sheriff Garry Biniecki tells the Times Herald of Port Huron the video was recorded around Christmas at a home in Sanilac County’s Bridgehampton Township. He says the video shows her forcing the boy to eat.

Biniecki says authorities found out about the video in January after an inquiry from a Detroit-area news agency.
