Walsh's tax program ranks 15th in nation

Walsh College’s Master of Science in Taxation was ranked 15th in the U.S. by more than 3,000 tax professionals, according to a recent survey by TaxTalent, the largest online support organization for tax professionals. This ranking places Walsh in the top 15 percent.

TaxTalent’s 2012 Top U.S. Masters in Tax Programs survey polled only tax professionals with a master’s degree or higher on 101 of the country’s business taxation programs. Eligible colleges had to offer either a Master of Science degree in taxation, or a master’s program with a concentration in tax.

“Walsh’s experienced faculty and numerous resources ensure students are fully prepared to become successful leaders in the tax industry,” said Stephanie Bergeron, Walsh president and CEO. “As a result, we’ve garnered exciting recognition for our program, ranking us among some of the most respected universities in the nation.”

In addition to its high-caliber faculty and its unique, real-world teaching style, Walsh has a number of specialized resources for its students, including The Walsh College Library. The library offers students a comprehensive tax collection with 5,000 tax titles and almost 3,000 tax serials for research.

Walsh also created the Tax Resource Portal, an online research guide that provides more than 600 free, tax-related resources to the public. Currently, the portal provides Michigan-specific tax-related cases, laws and statutes, and will continue to expand to include the remaining states and major U.S. and worldwide municipal tax authorities.
