Workshop examines what to do after falling behind on mortgage payments

The Adams-Pratt Oakland County Law Library will host the “Homeownership:  What to Do When You Fall Behind on Your Mortgage” workshop on Tuesday, March 27,  from 6 to 8 p.m.

Michelle R. E. Donovan, Marc P. Jerabek, and Patrick C. Lannen, associates Plunkett Cooney PC in Bloomfield Hills, will speak to attendees about the mortgage process and how consumers can work with their lenders when they fall behind on their payments to avoid the foreclosure process.

This workshop is the third in a series of four public lectures on legal topics that will be presented in the first half of 2012. The lecture series is titled, The People’s Law College. Members of the public are invited to attend and educate themselves to get answers on legal issues.  They will gain first-hand insight from the minds of attorneys and other professional experts.

The People’s Law College is sponsored by the Public Services Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association. The workshop is open to the public. There is no charge to attend, however seating is limited to 40 people. The public is encouraged to register in advance with the Oakland County Bar Association.  To register, call 248-334-3400.  Beverages and light snacks will be provided.
