Couple to stand trial in 80-year-old Royal Oak woman's death

ROYAL OAK (AP) -- Two people have been ordered to stand trial in the killing of an 80-year-old Royal Oak woman. Alan Wood and Tonia Watson are charged with first-degree murder in the death of Nancy Dailey, who was found tied up in her home on Nov. 20. The pair were arrested two days later in Wayne County Canton Township, where police say they attempted to use one of Dailey's bank cards at an ATM. Authorities say Wood and Watson showed up at Dailey's home and did lawn work before later breaking in. A judge last Friday ordered them to stand trial. Wood's lawyer, Elias Escobedo, has argued there's no evidence linking his client to the killing. Published: Tue, Mar 27, 2012
