DETROIT (AP) -- Dozens of museums in Michigan will offer free admission this summer to active duty military personnel and their families.
The Blue Star Museums program is in its third year.
More than 1,500 museums across the country are taking part.
Some of the Michigan museums participating include the Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum in South Haven, the Knowlton's Ice Museum of North America in Port Huron, the Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History in Jackson, the Cheboygan History Center and the Detroit Institute of Arts.
The DIA will offer free general admission to a military ID holder and five immediate family members now until Sept. 3 as part of the Blue Star Museums program.
