Man charged in theft from home of Bob Seger

ORCHARD LAKE (AP) -- A 20-year-old man has been charged with stealing from a suburban Detroit home of Bob Seger during a party thrown by the veteran rocker's teenage daughter. The Detroit News reports Andrew D. Thompson of Oakland County's Waterford Township was charged last Tuesday with larceny in the August theft. Defense lawyer J. Herbert Larson told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Thompson "admitted bad judgment" and returned items including an autographed pair of shoes. Larson says Thompson will take full responsibility for his actions. Police say the theft wasn't immediately noticed because Seger's family was moving from Orchard Lake to another home. Police say a 1978 Gibson Les Paul guitar believed taken from the home at the same time was returned in May. Larson says his client didn't take the guitar. Published: Mon, Jul 2, 2012
