Men found guilty of shooting at women

DETROIT (AP) -- Two men have been convicted in a shooting incident involving two Hamtramck women whose bodies later were found buried in a Detroit park. The Detroit News reports that separate Wayne County Circuit Court juries last Thursday found Brian Lee and Brandon Cain guilty of assault with intent to murder. They were accused of shooting Feb. 8 at 18-year-old Abreeya Brown and 22-year-old Ashley Conaway in Detroit. Arnold Reed, Lee's attorney, said the jury in his client's case "got it wrong." Cain, Lee and three other men also are charged with murder, kidnapping and torture in the slayings of Brown and Conaway. Their trial is set for Oct. 15. Brown and Conaway were forced at gunpoint in a car trunk later in February. Their bodies were discovered in March. Published: Mon, Aug 27, 2012
