International Law Section to host Annual Meeting
The State Bar of Michigan International Law Section will host its Annual Meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Detroit Yacht Club, located at 1 Riverbank Road in Detroit.
The meeting will begin at 11:30 with the election of the new International Law Section officers and council, which will be followed by a luncheon. SBM Executive Director Janet Welch will kick off the afternoon's programs with a keynote address about the State Bar and international law issues and opportunities.
The rest of the afternoon will be filled with panel discussions on the topics of "Immigration in 2012: Views from the Past, the Present, and the Future," moderated by Butzel Long Shareholder Linda Armstrong and Vercruysse Murray, & Calzone Shareholder Debra Auerbach Clephane; "International Trade--Looking Forward," moderated by Kozik & Woelke Partner Neil Woelke; and "Hot Topics in FCPA, U.K. Bribery Act, and Money Laundering," moderated by Deming Law Partner Stuart Deming. The meeting will end with a two-hour networking reception from 5 to 7 p.m.
