Center graduates 14 Cooley Law School mediators

Oakland Mediation Center (OMC) will graduate its eighth class of Civil mediators from Thomas M. Cooley Law School (Cooley), Auburn Hills Campus, on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 4 p.m. Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Edward Sosnick and Cooley Law School-Auburn Hills Associate Dean John Nussbaumer will speak at the event to be held at OMC's office in Bloomfield Hills.

The class of 14 students participated in this program as a result of a partnership between OMC and Cooley. The program was developed increase the number of mediators available to resolve conflicts in Oakland County and beyond. Students were given the opportunity to learn and to practice mediation skills.

The 14 students who participated in the program are:

*Nancy Urban, Ludington, MI.

*Lakisha Wade, Detroit.

The program creates a win-win for OMC and Cooley by providing experiential training and practical experience to Cooley students while developing highly-trained mediators.
