Woman pleads guilty to embezzling $874,000 from Northwestern Bank
LUDINGTON, Mich. (AP) -- A woman has pleaded guilty to federal bank embezzlement charges, admitting that she stole $874,000 from Northwestern Bank branches in Ludington over five years.
Mlive.com says that Stacy L. Ahlgren was a longtime employee of the bank and made the guilty plea last week in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids.
Judge Robert J. Jonker is to sentence her April 8.
In her plea agreement, the 56-year-old Ludington resident admits embezzling the money in 2007 through 2011, when she worked at two Northwestern Bank locations.
Ahlgren says she stole cash, cashier's checks and money orders from her teller drawer in an area she knew was not shown on security cameras.
