A warm hug from the President served as an early Christmas present for U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Damon Keith on December 10.
Keith was among the VIPs on hand for President Barack Obama’s appearance at Detroit Diesel Corp. headquarters in Redford earlier this month.
“It was a special moment to receive a hug from the President,” said Keith, who turned 90 earlier this year. “He has always been incredibly kind to me, especially after my wife (Rachel) died years ago. He sent a bouquet of roses in honor of her and took the time to give me a call, encouraging me to stay strong as I dealt with her passing. His thoughtfulness will always mean the world to me.”
